Tell Stories That Build Confidence

In this hands-on workshop, participants use characters, prompts, pictures, writing, and guided discussion to create and share their own stories.

The goal is not perfect writing. The goal is helping participants express ideas, organize thoughts, build confidence, and connect with others through storytelling.

Stories can be spoken, written, drawn, typed, acted out, or supported visually, whatever helps the participant communicate best.

Who Can Join?

This workshop is designed for:

Kids and teens who enjoy stories, characters, drawing, or imagination
Young adults building confidence, communication, and self-expression
Parents and caregivers looking for meaningful creative activities
Schools and transition programs seeking inclusive enrichment
Nonprofits and community programs serving people with all disabilities

What Participants Will Do

Participants will:

  • Choose or create a character
  • Build a simple story idea
  • Explore setting, problem, feelings, choices, and ending
  • Practice describing ideas in their own way
  • Share their story in a supportive space, if they choose
  • Leave with a story prompt or next step to continue creating

Participants do not need to be strong writers to join. Storytelling can happen through words, pictures, movement, voice, typing, or visual supports.

For some participants, it may feel easier to talk through a character or story before speaking directly about themselves. That creative distance can make communication feel safer and more accessible.

How Booking Works

  1. Submit the workshop request form
  2. We review the request, age, support needs, and preferred date
  3. If the participant is under 18, parent/guardian approval is required
  4. We confirm availability and send next steps
  5. Your spot is confirmed after payment is completed, unless it is a free community workshop

Submitting the form does not confirm your spot. Your workshop is confirmed after the date is approved and payment is completed.
